The Louisiana Bayou Bed is an original design by George Olivier. It was inspired by exotic West Indies beds with ornately carved wave motifs. But because Louisiana is not an environment of waves, but bayous, this lovely style was adapted to a sense of place.

Our headboard has beautiful rolling molding like the gentle, still bayous. This bed features long, teardrop posts; it is graceful, refined and relaxing to look at. And only cypress, the state tree of Louisiana would be appropriate for this original design.

Each post is 7’4” tall to allow a comfortable fit in a room with standard 8’ ceilings, or it will make a grandiose statement against higher walls. The spirals of each post are intricate, and the bed molding is rounded and soft. This Bayou Bed is an excellent example of Louisiana Style furniture.
